Applications are open for the Reach for Change Green Business Incubator 2025. The Green Business Incubator builds on Reach for Change’s experience in delivering similar programs in Ethiopia and other markets. However, this Green Business Incubator is unique because it addresses the identified gaps in supporting the alumni of the Green Innovation Lab and other early-stage waste management and circular enterprises.

The Incubator provides them with tailored tools and capacity development opportunities to sustain and grow their operations. The program’s objective is to develop sustainable business models, improved business processes, and best practices for 10 waste management and circular enterprises in 2025.

Benefits

  • One-on-one coaching support from experts in waste management, circularity, innovation, fundraising, impact, M&E, business development and more.
  • Group-based peer learning with support of industry experts to swiftly address team needs and strengthen overall capacity for long-term success.
  • Investor advisory, networking, knowledge-sharing and learning opportunities with relevant experts in finance, leadership, operations, sustainability.
  • Bespoke market research and entry support with from ecosystem actors and experts.
  • Raising awareness of the startup through impact-driven storytelling.
  • Equity-free venture between $5,000 to $10,000.

Eligibility

  • Open to an entrepreneur or enterprise working in waste management or the circular economy;
  • They are looking for initiatives that:
    • Are innovative. Waste management and circular economy solutions that are unearthing fresh new ways to impact youth, and women; and create sustainable and decent jobs for youth in Addis Ababa and beyond.
    • Will have a proven social impact – a piloted and tested waste management and circular economy solution that can solve youth unemployment in Addis Ababa, create sustainable livelihoods and resilient communities, and environmental challenges.
    • Are scalable – Waste management and circular economy solutions that have the potential to change the lives of many youths, and women in Addis Ababa, nationally, and beyond.
    • Can be financially sustainable – Waste management and circular economy solutions that have the potential to develop a business model that enables them to be financially sustainable in the long term.
    • Can be system-changing – Waste management and circular economy solutions that can solve societal and environmental issues from grassroots to policy levels and in the long-term.
