Applications are open for the Allan Gray Entrepreneurship Inter-College Competition 2025. The aim of the Inter-College competition is to foster a culture of entrepreneurship in TVET students. Registration is open to students who are enrolled at any of the 50 Public TVET Colleges in South Africa for the 2025 academic year.
The competition categories include:
- Innovative Business Idea: For students with a profitable business concept ready to launch.
- Tech Business: For existing businesses offering technology-related products or services.
- Trade Business: For existing skilled trades businesses in Construction, Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical, Carpentry, etc.
- General Business: For existing businesses that don’t fit into the other categories.
Prizes
- Win Your Share of R320,000 in Prizes – Not only do students stand a chance to win big, but they also receive mentorship and business support for a year.
- Bragging Rights & Recognition – Winners put their colleges on the map and earn the prestigious title of Inter-College Category Winner.
- Network & Collaborate with Like-Minded Students – Students connect with like-minded peers in the technical space, opening doors to high-impact business collaborations.
Eligibility
- Open to students registered at any of the 50 public TVET colleges in South Africa.
- Entrants must own at least 50% of the business they are submitting for the competition.
- Employees at any of the 50 public TVET Colleges are not eligible to participate in the competition.
Application
The competition consists of an easy online application form. The application process will be followed by three rounds: College internal rounds, regional rounds, and a national grand finale in September 2025.
