Applications are open for the ESD Okayama Award 2025. The award recognizes outstanding ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) initiatives anywhere in the world. One or two project(s) will be selected to receive the award.
The ESD Okayama Award has been held since 2015 under the joint sponsorship of Okayama City and the ESD Okayama Award Steering Board, with the aim of honoring excellent examples of ESD around the world, thereby supporting the activities of the award-winning project organizations and contributing to the spread of ESD activities.
One representative from the organization(s) implementing the awarded project(s) will be invited to attend the ESD Okayama Award 2025 Ceremony in Okayama, Japan and will be asked to make a presentation about the project. The Award Ceremony, scheduled for October 21, 2025, will be held in conjunction with the 14th Global RCE Conference in Okayama City (hosted by the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability, Okayama City, and the Okayama ESD Promotion Commission).
Prize
- Up to $3,000 USD will be awarded to selected project.
Eligibility
- ESD projects that have been implemented for more than 2 years by organizations anywhere in the world.
Application
The application deadline is May 31, 2025 at 17:00 (Japan Standard Time). No Applications will not be accepted after the application deadline.
- Temporary Registration: At the “Temporary Registration” page, register your organization’s e-mail address. You will receive automated email.
- Application Online: Apply by filling out the Application Form on the website provided in the automated email.
- Temporary Acceptance: You will receive an automated email with an acceptance of your application.
- Completion of Application: You will receive an email from the secretariat upon completion of the application.
