Opportunity Desk is excited to host an inspiring Instagram Live conversation spotlighting circular innovation and smart entrepreneurship in the creative industry. On Thursday, 26 February, we will be joined by Rungano, the founder of Paper Pieces, a brand transforming discarded paper into handcrafted beads and statement accessories that are bold, beautiful, and commercially viable. From waste paper to wearable art, Paper Pieces is redefining what sustainable fashion can look like, and proving that eco-conscious products can compete, scale, and sell.

Conversation Theme
“Sustainable Fashion That Actually Sells: Lessons from Paper Pieces.” In this candid and practical session, Rungano will take us behind the scenes of building a brand that sits at the intersection of creativity, climate responsibility, and commercial success, using paper to create beads that become fashion-forward jewelry and accessories. This session is designed for young entrepreneurs, sustainability advocates, creatives, fashion founders, and anyone interested in building businesses that protect the planet while generating real revenue.

We will explore:
How she turns paper waste into durable, market-ready beads and products
How she built demand for paper-bead fashion pieces
What it took to refine quality, design, and brand identity
How she thinks about pricing handmade sustainable products
Lessons on growth, repeat customers, and scaling productionWhat “sustainability that sells” really looks like behind the scenes
