Applications are open for the Asian Pacific American (APA) Legacy Scholarship 2024. The Heritage Series’ Asian Pacific American (APA) Legacy scholarship is a celebration of APA Heritage Month. The scholarship is open to any high school or college student of APA descent in the United States.
The intention of the Heritage Series’ APA Legacy Scholarship is to allow APAs to create fun and interesting 60-90 second video vignettes. The videos must convey what it means to you to be an APA. Why do you feel it’s important to recognize and celebrate your cultural heritage? Videos can be about the customs or traditions you practice, the types of foods you eat, or what you do with your family and friends. They can be clever, silly and/or serious. It’s totally up to you, however, the contestant must share a little bit about themselves too. You must use the #APALegacy2024 hashtag when posting.

- 1st Place: $250
- 2nd Place: $125
- 3rd Place: $75
Eligibility
- Content Creators must identify in part or completely as AAPI: Asian American Pacific Islander.
- Must be currently enrolled in a high school or an accredited college anywhere around the world. Group videos are accepted, but the scholarship money will be given to the person who submits the video. It is incumbent on that person to share the money, if awarded.
Judging Criteria
- Entries will be judged by a panel of APA journalists, academics, subject matter experts, and media professionals. The complete list of judges will be disclosed when the winners are announced. Entries will be judged by Creativity, Execution, and Messaging. They want to highlight your amazing stories!
Application

- Post to your account as a public Instagram Reel.
- Tag @apalegacy and use #APALegacy2024 in the caption
- Complete this Official Form for submission.
- One entry per Instagram account.
