Deadline: July 28, 2024

Apply to join the GLFx Chapter Network! The Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) is calling for local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and grassroots initiatives to join the GLFx network as local chapters. Selected organizations will have access to various opportunities and resources to support sustainable landscapes across the world, with a specific focus on Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

GLFx is an opportunity-making network for local organizations, community-oriented and grassroots initiatives, referred to as GLFx chapters, transforming landscapes from the ground up and advocating for policy change. From planting native trees to implementing regenerative agriculture, facilitating public dialogues and creating their community-led solutions, GLFx chapters are at the forefront of change in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Through the GLFx network, chapters leverage opportunities and partnerships for networking, learning, exposure to the media and global events, and access to seed funding for sustainable and inclusive landscape management.

Benefits

Selected organizations will become a part of the GLFx network and access opportunities for:

  • Networking and peer-to-peer learning through the GLFx community and GLF Charter Members
  • Global spotlighting: regional and global outreach support, storytelling opportunities through the GLF’s events and platforms.
  • Learning and knowledge sharing: tailored learning programmes, connection with scientific experts
  • Funding: internal calls for proposals, access to funding and other fundraising opportunities.

Eligibility

They will accept applications from registered local NGOs, community-led or grassroot initiatives, and networks that:

  • Represent and work with local communities in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Are led by people from the geographic area of the organization’s work.
  • Focus on landscape restoration and management for sustainable livelihoods and land-use, biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, justice and inclusivity.
  • Promote collaboration and partnerships among communities and landscape actors.
  • Are well organized, with an administrative structure to potentially receive and manage funds.

They would especially encourage applications from groups with:

  • Demonstrated experience in mobilizing actors to facilitate local action
  • A strong commitment to promoting sustainable landscapes and restoration
  • Existing partnerships and dialogues with other stakeholders in the landscape
  • A diverse team: diversity and inclusion will be taken into account during the selection process.

Expectations

If your organization becomes a GLFx chapter, you will be expected to:

  • Assign a focal point to liaison with the GLF
  • Join regular meetings with the GLF team and other chapters
  • Engage with regular opportunities shared by the GLF team (learning, knowledge co-creation, spotlighting, networking, funding calls or alerts)
  • Regularly update the GLF about on-the-ground activities.
  • Leverage existing activities to connect people, share knowledge locally and globally, develop learning opportunities for the community, and/or lead action on the ground.

Application

To apply, simply follow these steps:

  • Create an account on the GLFx platform. This will allow you to learn about what other chapters are already doing.
  • Prepare answers to the application questions below; make sure to have them ready for the third step.
  • Fill out the online application form.
