Nominations are invited for the Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Anti-Corruption Excellence Award 2024. The Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani Anti-Corruption Excellence Award intends to advocate the importance of tackling corruption and encourage the implementation of the crucial measures set forth by the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, through gathering and broadcasting creative and outstanding achievements of anti-corruption projects by publicly awarding and honoring exceptional related efforts.

By highlighting exemplary models and promoting excellence and creativity in anti-corruption, the Award is to serve as incentive to greater motivation and as a tool to identify, recognize, honor and reward those who have shown vision, leadership, creativity, enthusiasm in, and commitment and dedication for tackling corruption, as well as the capacity to inspire others to replicate similar efforts.

Categories

The award categories include:

  • Lifetime/Outstanding Achievement
  • Academic Research and Education
  • Youth Creativity and Engagement
  • Innovation/Investigative Journalism
  • Safeguarding Sports from Corruption

Eligibility

  • Nominations must be made by a third party, i.e., another entity than the individual or institution being nominated, through an on-line nomination form. Past Award winners may submit nominations.
  • Eligible nominators include senior level officials from government departments and agencies, international organizations, academic institutions, renowned and relevant non-governmental organizations and professional associations.
  • Self-nominations shall not be accepted. The nominee and nominator shall not be the same person and shall not be in any kinship relationship or hierarchically dependent of each other.
  • Nominations should not include the current incumbents of top-level political positions in governments (defined as ministerial level and above), or heads of governmental agencies or international organizations and agencies.
  • Past Award winners are ineligible for subsequent nominations.

Nomination

  • You will need a nominator in order to submit your nomination.
  • Your nominator should submit the nomination details on the website.
  • A member of the team will reach out to request your supporting documents.
  • Send your supporting documents by email or through the secure website.
  • Let them know when your nomination is ready to submit.
  • They will contact you after the nominations close and the judges have made their decisions
