UPG Sustainability Leadership Program 2025 (Fully-funded to the U.S.)

Are you a passionate citizen, aged 18 to 35, who believes your actions can support your local community and that every small positive action can make the world a better place? Apply for the United People Global (UPG) Sustainability Leadership Program 2025.

Northeastern University Global Study Expo 2026

UPG Sustainability Leadership is a movement that mobilises individuals and organisations to support positive citizen leadership on sustainability. This movement is led by UPG Sustainability Leaders and each year UPG trains 500+ UPG Sustainability Leaders from all world regions to join the existing family of outstanding leaders who are taking action within their communities to demonstrate the power of citizens to create a more sustainable world. As part of their actions, UPG Sustainability Leaders have directly trained over 86,000 citizens across the world (and counting).

Benefits

  • Participation in UPG Sustainability Leadership is FREE for selected participants. All 500 participants will receive online training free of charge and all will be certified as UPG Sustainability Leaders after completion of the course.
  • Selected participants for the 1 week immersive excursion in USA will have the costs of the programme covered – training material, accommodation, subsistence, local transportation, international flights (a round trip flight from participant’s home town to the US).

Eligibility

  • Open to young leaders between 18 and 35 from all countries.
  • You demonstrate a strong motivation to become UPG Sustainability Leader combined with strong capabilities, and you also have initial ideas that can have an impact.

Selection Criteria

UPG is looking for young, determined people from all different paths of life and regions of the world. From well-experienced professionals to freshly graduated students. The selection process considers four factors:

  • Your Profile – this helps them to strive for diversity
  • Your Motivation – they select the most motivated
  • Your Capabilities and
  • The Potential for Impact
