Applications are open for the Safe Online Campus Ambassadors Program 2024-2025. The Safe Online with Meta Campus Ambassador Programme offers students of tertiary institutions across Nigeria the opportunity to champion digital literacy and online safety on their campuses. Safe Online with Meta is a digital literacy and online safety campaign targeted at equipping Nigerian citizens with the skills required to use the internet responsibly and safely.
The campaign is a collaborative project between Co-Creation Hub and Meta designed to advocate for the safe and responsible use of digital platforms. In 4 years, the program has effectively trained over 95,193 participants, including learners, teachers, school leaders, parents, youths, and stakeholders from various organisations. The Safe Online with Meta Campus Ambassador programme is designed to be a learning experience and a highly rewarding pursuit for selected students while providing them with opportunities to develop leadership competencies and showcase their unique abilities.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of Campus Ambassadors include:
- Complete the one-month training programme within the dedicated timeline
- Record a minimum of 75% in the training assessment
- Establish and lead an Online Safety Club on your Campus
- Mobilise and facilitate digital literacy and online safety training to the student community on your campus.
- Be an active member on the virtual platform for the duration of the programme
- Plan and execute an Online Safety Pop-up with guidance from the programmes team.
