Applications are open for the Leica Women Foto Project Award 2025. The sixth annual Leica Women Foto Project Award—a prestigious initiative dedicated to celebrating and empowering visual storytellers with a unique feminine perspective. This year’s theme, Unity Through Diversity, invites photographers to submit a photo essay exploring the importance of connection in times of division, using any make or model of camera.
The Leica Women Foto Project encourages diversity and inclusion in visual storytelling to amplify voices typically underrepresented in photography, discovering the breadth of shapes formed by a single story. Conceived in 2019, the initiative has evolved to offer cash awards, mentorship and business opportunities and Leica equipment to serve the female perspective in the world of photography.
Prizes
- The 2025 Leica Women Foto Project Award grant four photographers $10,000 each to help progress an in-progress, personal photo project expressed through the feminine point of view.
- In addition to the financial award, each winner will receive a Leica SL3 camera and a Leica Vario Elmarit-SL 24-70mm lens; to further support the completion or progression of a personal project.
Eligibility
- Open only to individuals legally residing in the fifty (50) United States, United Kingdom, Mexico, or Canada (excluding residents of the province of Québec);
- Are at least twenty-one (21) years of age at time of entry in the Contest.
Application
Each Submission MUST include the following:
- Project title
- Ten (10) photographs of which at least four (4) photographs were created between 2021 and 2024
- Brief project statement (1-2 sentences), including the connection to the theme Unity ThroughDiversity
- Project description (up to 250 words)
- Artist bio (up to 150 words)
- Summary of intent of use of prize money. Prize money MUST be used as indicated by summary of intent. Prize recipients MUST keep all receipts related to the allocation of prize money and may be asked to submit proof of use on or before January 23, 2026.
