Deadline: January 31, 2025

The Grand Challenges Nigeria (GCNg) is excited to announce the Advancing Innovative Solutions for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health initiative, aimed at addressing critical health challenges in Nigeria. This Request for Proposals (RFP) invites innovative and scalable project ideas that can significantly impact maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes in the country.

Nigeria faces some of the highest maternal and child mortality rates globally, exacerbated by poverty, limited access to healthcare, and inadequate nutrition. The GCNg initiative aims to foster innovative solutions that leverage local contexts to tackle these pressing issues, ultimately contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals and improving health outcomes for all Nigerians.

GCNg seeks to support projects that:

  • Address significant health issues affecting large populations.
  • Demonstrate potential for lasting impact and scalability.
  • Involve active stakeholder participation to enhance relevance and effectiveness.

Grant

  • A maximum of ten projects will be funded under this RFP, with grant amounts tailored to the specific needs and proposed budgets of each project. The Funding Amount is up to 60 Million Naira per grant.

Eligibility

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be affiliated with registered Nigerian institutions or organizations.
  • Have a proven track record in maternal, newborn, and child health.
  • Ensure that projects are implemented within Nigeria.
  • Note that while local and international collaborations are encouraged, the lead applicant must be Nigerian.

Application

Interested parties can apply through the GCNg grant platform. It is essential to submit realistic budget proposals that reflect actual costs required to achieve project goals.
