Deadline: March 16, 2025

Applications are open for the Centre for Housing Innovation Canada Accelerator Program 2025. This six-month initiative is designed to support scalable, innovative solutions in the housing and proptech industries. This program is part of a national effort to drive innovation and address critical challenges in the housing value chain, including affordability, sustainability, technology adoption, and efficiency.

Starting on April 1, 2025, the CHI Acceleration Program will empower companies to drive innovation in housing productivity and sustainability. Each cohort will last six months, with at least four cohorts planned. This comprehensive program provides companies with mentorship, industry connections, investor introductions, and resources to fast-track their impact.

Benefits

By participating in the CHI Acceleration Program, companies will gain access to:

  • Tailored Mentorship: Monthly one-on-one check-ins with program leads to track progress and overcome challenges. Biweekly Lead Expert-in-Residence sessions will provide expert coaching on strategy, growth, and industry trends.
  • Training & Skill Development: CHI training workshops featuring Skillhouse training modules to build essential business and leadership skills. Monthly office hours with GroundBreak Ventures, NGen, and CivicAction will offer tailored mentorship, insights, and support.
  • Networking & Visibility: Opportunities to connect with investors, industry leaders, and like-minded entrepreneurs through industry events and mixers. A graduation meetup will provide a demo day-style event where companies can showcase their progress and engage with key stakeholders.

Cost

  • The program is completely free and does not take equity from participating companies.

Eligibility

They are seeking scaling (Seed or Series A) companies that have:

  • An innovative solution that addresses housing challenges and enhances productivity in the industry.
  • Demonstrated traction within Canada (scaling/Seed/Series A stage).
  • At least one full-time founder and a coachable leadership team.
  • Incorporation in Canada (or plans to incorporate).
  • A clear impact on Canada’s housing sector.

Special considerations may apply to startups from rural areas, Indigenous innovators, academia-based entrepreneurs, and cutting-edge technologies.

Application

The program is primarily virtual, but select in-person networking events and pitch opportunities may be available. Companies may also have access to co-working and meeting spaces through DMZ’s network.
