African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) Siza Grant Program 2025 (Up to $15,000)

Applications are invited for the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) Siza Grant Program 2025. “Siza” is a Zulu word that means assistance or help and creates a sense of community and collective care.

This crisis response grant provides flexible funding to small grassroots and unregistered groups in building sustainable solutions in crisis and conflict areas. They refer to conflict areas not only as those experiencing civil war but forgotten conflict areas, and areas that aren’t considered as being in conflict but are experienced as such by women, girls and gender-diverse persons there. It will support responses before, during and after crises.

Grants

  • Up to $15,000 per year for two years (a total $30,000 over two years to support community-driven solutions)
  • Flexible use of funds for health, safety, advocacy, and peacebuilding initiatives

Eligibility

  • Nascent or small grassroots organisations and networks and unregistered groups and networks led by African women, girls and gender-diverse persons in countries and communities experiencing conflict.
  • This grant is open to applicants from all geographical regions of Africa meeting the conflict-affected description provided.
  • Priority will be given to organisations and unregistered groups that focus on women’s health, femicide, domestic violence, sexual violence and other forms of violence against women, and women, peace and security.

Apply before 27 May 2025. Any application submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
