Deadline: May 31, 2025

Are you ready to shake up the insurance sector and build products that actually serve the people who need them most? The National Insurance Commission (NIC), in collaboration with the UNDP Insurance and Risk Finance Facility (IRFF), presents the Inclusive Insurance Innovation Challenge for Ghana (3IC) — a nationwide call to disrupt, innovate, and drive real impact in underserved markets.

They are looking for innovative solutions that focus on key areas in the insurance and risk finance space, including:

  • Digital Inclusion: Leveraging AI and mobile technology to improve access and affordability of insurance services.
  • Climate & Agricultural Risk Protection: Solutions that support smallholder farmers and communities vulnerable to climate change and natural disasters.
  • Gender-Smart Insurance: Creating insurance products that empower young women, enhancing financial inclusion and resilience.
  • Green Insurance for Climate Resilience: Products that help individuals and communities build resilience to the impacts of climate change.
  • Disability-Inclusive Insurance: Designing accessible and empathetic insurance products for persons living with disabilities.

Benefits

  • Gain mentorship from top industry leaders;
  • Pitch to key stakeholders;
  • Access market support;
  • Win cash prizes and drive lasting financial resilience.

Eligibility

  • Open to disruptive InsurTech startups, forward-looking insurers, visionary entrepreneurs, and social impact innovators with bold ideas to tackle the insurance gaps in Ghana, particularly for underserved populations. They are specifically looking for solutions that cater to the following groups:
    • Drivers, traders, and other informal sector workers
    • Smallholder farmers who face significant risks but lack adequate protection
    • Young women who are often excluded from financial services
    • Persons living with disabilities who need accessible and inclusive insurance products
    • Communities most vulnerable to climate shocks and environmental risks
  • Your idea could focus on digital inclusion through AI and mobile tech, climate and agricultural risk protection, gender-smart insurance for young women, green insurance for climate resilience, or disability-inclusive solutions built on empathy and accessibility.

Application

Ready to make insurance work for everyone? Submit your company name, email, and phone contact and join the movement shaping the future of inclusive insurance in Ghana.
