Nominations are open for the BlackNorth Initiative Lifetime Achievement Award 2025. The purpose of the Lifetime Achievement Award is to honour and celebrate the winner’s accomplishments in championing the rights and freedoms of Black Canadians or who has significantly impacted many individuals and organizations.
The Lifetime Achievement Award celebrates exceptional advocates who have, through at least 10 years of documented contributions, influenced individuals, organizations, or driven systemic change across Canada in support of Black communities. This honour highlights decades of advocacy, leadership, and community-building.
Award
- Winners of the BlackNorth Initiative Lifetime Achievement Award will receive a prize of $15,000.
Eligibility
- Nominee must have 10 or more years of documented accomplishments championing the rights and freedoms of Black Canadians;
- Nominee must self-identify as being of Black/African descent;
- Demonstrated leadership, ingenuity, and measurable community impact aligned with Black culture, language, education, and/or rights within the Black or BIPOC community.
