Applications are open for the Wells Fargo Sophomore Discovery Fellowship Program 2026. The Sophomore Discovery Fellowship Program is designed to provide students, who have completed their sophomore year of college, with an in-depth understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of full-time employees across a variety of roles within Wells Fargo.

Fellows receive comprehensive professional and educational experience through networking, job shadowing, and other engagement opportunities paired with a summer capstone project and presentation. In addition, the experience offers organized activities that afford fellows engagement in intentional programming, exposure to various business functions, opportunities for career exploration, and networking events with other fellows across various businesses.

Fellows will participate in a series of structured program engagements, which will include: 

  • Robust one-week induction that includes technical and soft skills training   
  • Opportunity to job shadow and receive on-the-job training 
  • Networking with current members of other Early Careers programs to learn about their day-to-day roles and responsibilities 
  • Executive Speaker Series, lunch and learns, and cross business networking events 
  • Collaboration with cohort peers on a capstone project and presentation
  • Formal end-of-program evaluation
  • Opportunity for a consecutive summer offer to the Early Careers Junior Internship, after successful completion of the Sophomore Discovery Fellowship Program

Benefits

  • This is a paid experience with corporate housing provided for the program’s duration, for those interested.

Eligibility

  • Current sophomores pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date in December 2027 or May/June 2028.
  • Willingness to relocate to Charlotte, NC for the program duration. Corporate housing will be provided for the entirety of the program at no cost to the participants.
  • 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired qualifications

Fellows must demonstrate a combination of academic aptitude, quantitative skills, and personal motivation. It is preferred that your background includes: 

  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment 
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment 
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • Demonstrated interest in finance and the financial markets 
  • Proven ability to take on significant responsibility 
  • Energetic self-starter who is flexible, organized, conscientious, and proactive 
  • An individual who demonstrates a sense of personal accountability and urgency for achieving results 
  • Dedication to building a career in the financial services industry
  • Wells Fargo will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Wells Fargo during the program.
