Are you a journalist passionate about telling Africa’s most important stories? Do you want to deepen your expertise in reporting on mining, oil, gas, climate change, and the future of green minerals? Apply now for the Africa Extractives Media Fellowship 2025-2026.

The AEMF is a 6-month intensive journalism training programme designed to strengthen reporting on Africa’s extractive industries. The fellowship combines:

  • Expert-led training sessions
  • Mentorship from industry leaders
  • Field reporting opportunities
  • Networking with stakeholders from government, industry, and civil society

This initiative is led by NewsWire Africa in partnership with leading institutions and organizations committed to transparency, sustainability, and good governance.

Eligibility

  • Early to mid-career journalists based in Ghana can apply;

  • Strong interest in extractives, climate change, energy transition, or sustainable development;
  • Women journalists are especially encouraged to apply.

Application

  • October 2025 – April 2026: Fully in-person engagements (Accra, Ghana)
  • Deadline: 23:59 GMT, 30 September 2025
