Applications are open for the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference 2026. The Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference (GGCLC) offers a two-week experience that brings together Canada’s future leaders from business, labour, government, NGOs, education, and the cultural sector.
Since 1983, the GGCLC has been a prestigious platform designed to broaden the understanding of Canada’s diverse communities and foster progressive interaction among leaders from different sectors. Conference participants will engage in in-depth discussions, travel across Canada in study groups, meet with local leaders, and develop the insights to lead with empathy and vision. This year’s theme focuses on “Leading Canada’s Sustainable Prosperity.”
Costs
- The Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference will cover the costs of all accommodation, meals and travel during the course of the Conference for all members.
- Sponsors or employers of members are encouraged to pay for the member’s transportation to the Opening Plenary and back home from the Closing Plenary.
Eligibility
- Open to Canadian citizens aged between 28 and 45.
- Mid-career professionals with leadership potential poised to rise to senior roles within the next 10 years.
- Effective team players with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in the broader social and economic issues affecting Canada.
- Applicants must have endorsement/support from their employer or sponsoring organization (or be self-sponsored).
- Able to commit full time to the intensive program from May 22 to June 5, 2026.
