Deadline: March 21, 2026

Applications are open for the ROGEAP Regional Solar Business Plan Competition 2026. The Regional Off-Grid Electricity Access Project (ROGEAP) Project Fund Manager (PFM) has launched the Regional Standalone Solar Business Plan Competition, inviting entrepreneurs, start-ups, and established companies in the off-grid solar sector to present innovative business solutions that can accelerate access to sustainable electricity across West, the Sahel and Central Africa.

The competition aims to identify and support innovative solar enterprises that are helping to deliver reliable, affordable, and clean energy solutions to underserved communities. Through this initiative, ROGEAP seeks to strengthen the regional renewable energy ecosystem, support solar businesses in scaling their operations, and improve their access to finance and investment opportunities.

Prizes

The best-performing businesses will receive financial awards and recognition, including:

  • 1st Prize: $10,000
  • 2nd Prize: $5,000
  • 3rd Prize: $2,500
  • Additional Equalisation Award: $4,000 for the best woman-led competitor

Outstanding participants will also have the opportunity to showcase and pitch their businesses during the Sustainable Energy Forum (ESEF), where they will engage with investors, policymakers, and development partners.

Eligibility

  • Open to start-ups, established SMEs, and larger companies operating in the off-grid solar sector across the 19 ROGEAP project countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo.
