Applications for the UK-German Study Visit 2026 are now open. This funded opportunity will bring together teachers from the UK and Germany to explore and discuss the implementation of curriculum relevance within an international framework.
This professional development offer is open to teachers of all subject areas from primary, secondary and SEN schools with no active UK-German school partnership. German language skills are not required and your school does not need to offer German as a subject in order to take part.
The study visit is funded and organised by UK-German Connection in collaboration with an external course provider, LFEE.
Costs
- UK-German Connection will cover all accommodation and event-related costs. Participants must cover incidental costs (including snacks while travelling, additional spending money etc.). Wednesday, 24 and Sunday, 28 June are optional travel days. The cost of your travel will be reimbursed after the study visit, according to UK-German Connection guidelines.
- A contribution (max. 50%) towards supply cover costs can be offered upon request. The request must be submitted prior to the event.
Eligibility
- Teachers (any subject and position) at primary, secondary, and SEN schools in the UK who do not currently have a UK-German school partnership. The schools interested need to have a support framework within their school that is committed to international projects and partnerships and to implementing relevant outcomes of the study visit.
- German language skills are not required for the seminar. The seminar will be conducted in English.
- Participation will require the full and active support of the Headteacher/Principal.
Application
The seminar will take place in Wales, from Thursday, 25 June to Saturday, 27 June 2026. Participants will need to attend for the full duration of the study visit and actively participate in all workshops and activities.
Applications can be submitted via the application form by Tuesday, 28 April 2026 at 23:59 BST. They will notify successful applicants of their place in the week beginning 11 May 2026.
