Applications are open for the Future Voices Program 2026. This new initiative, delivered by Australian Broadcasting Corporation International Development (ABCID), with support from the ASEAN-Australia Centre, brings together emerging media leaders across ASEAN to foster cross-cultural collaboration, strengthen ethical journalism, and build sustainable regional networks.
A cohort of 33 media professionals will be selected to take part in a year-long program. The focus will be on Climate Change Journalism with the objective to support media professionals improve standards of climate change reporting in their newsrooms and communities.
The program blends online learning with a two-week in-person intensive course in Australia and ongoing alumni engagement. 11 participants will have opportunity to travel to Melbourne to earn a leadership and climate change micro-credential at a leading Australian university, receive training at the ABC, attend the All-Energy Australia conference, and connect with major Australian climate institutions. Participants will also develop personalised leadership action projects, integrating new knowledge and skills with the support of industry-specific mentors.

- Develop a personalised leadership action project with support from industry mentors
Eligibility
- Open to early to mid-career media professionals;
- Be from Southeast Asia.

Submit your application by 25 July 2026. This program will run from August – December 2026, with in-country commitments 20 – 30 October 2026.
