Applications are open for the MTN MUSON Music Scholars Programme 2026/2027. Since inception in 2006 and in partnership with the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON), the premium music school in Nigeria, MTN Foundation has been providing fully funded scholarships to talented young Nigerians annually to acquire an internationally recognized Diploma in Music. The MTN MUSON Music Scholars Programme is open to eligible talented young Nigerians who wish to improve their skills in Music.
The Diploma in Music is a full-time, two (2) year programme offering advanced training in music, with majors available in the following areas: Piano, Organ, Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Percussion, Classical Guitar, and Voice.
Eligibility
- Minimum academic qualification: General Certificate of Education (GCE) ordinary level or Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) with credits in five (5) subjects including English Language in not more than 2 sittings.
- Music Practical and Theory: Grade five (5) or higher pass certificate of the MUSON School of Music or any other music examining body recognized by the MUSON School such as MUSON, ABRSM or Trinity (London).
- Be between 18–35 years.
Application
- Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
- Only applicants who meet the admission requirements will be shortlisted and notified by Wednesday, 26th August, 2026 for further auditions and interviews.
- An examination number will be allocated to participants, permitting them to take the written examination, practical audition, and interview.
- Successful candidates from the examinations, auditions, and interviews will be offered admission into the Diploma Programme.
