Applications are open for the EJN Workshop 2026 for Communicators and Content Creators on Renewable Energy. Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites communicators and content creators to join a workshop on renewable energy in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, from September 24-26, 2026. This opportunity is open to content creators interested in deepening their understanding of renewable energy issues and developing reporting skills, as well as communicators looking to strengthen their social media storytelling.
Selected participants will learn from industry leaders, subject experts and community leaders and go on a field trip to see the rollout of renewable energy first-hand and discuss ideas with seasoned mentors. There will be specialized sessions on solutions journalism, content creation and communication skills, with hands-on training.
Costs
- The organizers will cover the cost of travel, accommodation and meals for the selected participants.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Commit to attending all days of the workshop.
- Demonstrate an interest in renewable energy issues.
- Permit republication by the organizers of any output as a result of participation in the workshop.
- Content creators should actively and frequently post short-form videos on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, X or other leading social media platforms, relating to topics such as environment, energy, economy, lifestyle, social issues, travel, science, politics and health. Content creators with an audience size of more than 20,000 followers will have an advantage. Prior content focused on renewable energy is not a requirement.
- Communicators should actively and frequently report on environmental and/or energy issues and can be staff or freelancers. They should also have familiarity with and presence on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, X or other leading social media platforms, but there is no audience size requirement.
- Applicants from Uttar Pradesh and neighboring states will get priority. Applicants from Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Odisha will get secondary priority.
