CRCD D.C. Fellowship for Civic Renewal 2027 (Fully-funded)

Deadline: November 13, 2026

Applications are open for the Center for Religion, Culture & Democracy (CRCD) D.C. Fellowship for Civic Renewal 2027. The D.C. Fellowship for Civic Renewal is a competitive program for about a dozen high-achieving students pursuing careers in law, public service, policy research, or related fields.

The Fellowship consists of lively discussions pertaining to the most pressing challenges in modern governance, such as political division, post-liberalism, the rise in antisemitism, attacks on the free market, religious institutions, and families. Discussions are led by prominent scholars, lawyers, and members of the federal judiciary.

Outside of these sessions, students cultivate relationships with First Liberty staff and alumni of CRCD’s programs during meals and networking opportunities. Guided tours of venues such as the United States Capitol, the Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims enrich themes and ideals discussed during the program. For over a decade, the D.C. Fellowship has called emerging leaders to engage modern-day challenges with conviction and prudence. Alumni of the D.C. Fellowship have answered that call—as clerks at the United States Court of Appeals, civil servants in the Department of Education and Department of Agriculture, staffers for members of Congress, and employees at leading think tanks.

Cost

  • The program is fully funded for selected participants.

Eligibility

  • The D.C. Fellowship is ideal for high-achieving undergraduate students who aspire to careers in law, public service, policy, or related fields.
  • Fellows often come from programs in law, history, philosophy, and political science, but students from all disciplines of study are welcome.

Application

Required application items include:

  • Completed online application
  • Résumé
  • Cover Letter
  • Letter of Recommendation
  • Writing Sample
