East African Community (EAC) Youth Fellowship 2027 (Fully-funded)

Applications are invited for the EAC Youth Fellowship 2027. The EAC Youth Fellowship is a prestigious initiative designed to engage and empower young people in regional integration and leadership within the East African Community (EAC).

This fellowship aims to harness the potential of youth and promote their active participation in shaping the future of the region. By offering mentorship, capacity-building activities, and networking opportunities, the EAC Youth Fellowship seeks to nurture the next generation of leaders committed to regional cooperation and development. The EAC Youth Fellowship is delivered in a blended learning format which includes, online sessions (4 weeks) and physical sessions (2 weeks). The physical sessions take place at MS TCDC in Arusha, Tanzania.

Benefits

  • The EAC Youth Fellowship is fully funded under the Together for Impact Partnership between the Danida Fellowship Centre and MS TCDC. Fellows may also receive a stipend or allowances to cover their expenses during the fellowship period the details of which will be disclosed to selected participants.
  • Engage with experienced mentors who will provide guidance, support and apprenticeship throughout the fellowship.
  • Gain access to a network of professionals, policymakers, and fellow youth leaders from across the EAC region.
  • Participate in workshops, training sessions and seminars focused on enhancing leadership skills, policy understanding and regional integration.

Eligibility

  • Applicants should be between 18-35 years old.
  • Eligible Countries are Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Burundi, Rwanda, Somalia and The Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. Strong demonstrated leadership potential is required. Additional qualifications related to regional integration, leadership, business, economic governance or relevant fields are highly valued.

Application

Applicants must submit the following: 

  • Answer the questions as asked in the portal
  • Provide a comprehensive resume outlining your educational background, work experience, leadership roles, and any relevant achievements or involvements. 
  • Cover Letter detailing your interest in regional integration, highlight your experiences related to the EAC’s objectives, and articulate your motivation to contribute to the EAC Youth Fellowship.
