Applications are open for the Mycoskie – UC Berkeley Psychedelic Documentary Fellowship 2026. The Mycoskie-UC Berkeley Psychedelic Documentary Fellowship aims to empower a new generation of filmmakers exploring the burgeoning field of psychedelics.
They are looking for groundbreaking narratives fit for cinematic storytelling – untold stories that captivate audiences and shed light on the science, policy, business and culture of this new era of psychedelics. They are committed to fostering a diverse pool of filmmakers to document this rapidly changing field.
Grants
The Mycoskie-UC Berkeley Psychedelic Documentary Fellowship will offer two distinct types of grants:
- Feature-Length Documentary Grant: Three documentary filmmakers will be awarded up to $20,000 to support the production or post-production of a feature-length documentary (more than 40 minutes).
- Short-Form Documentary Grant: Up to five documentary filmmakers will be awarded up to $10,000 each for the production of of a short-form documentary (40 minutes or less)
Eligibility
- Both grants are open to all filmmakers worldwide, regardless of nationality or citizenship status.
- Only graduate school level films are eligible for entry to the Short-Form Documentary Grant.
- Student applicants must have a letter of support from a faculty advisor who will be supervising the completion of the film as part of their graduate school program. The faculty letter must be submitted by the application deadline.
- They do not support fiction films or films commissioned by NGOs or brands.
- Your film can be in other language as long as it will have English subtitles. Write the application in English as the selection committee does not have the capacity to evaluate applications in other languages.
