Deadline: December 15, 2026
Applications are open for the Alfred Friendly Press Partners Fellowship 2027. The fellowship is a four-week in-person program focused on foreign journalists who are living in exile in the US. The program builds skills and resiliency in these areas: Security, Legal, Journalism and Entrepreneurship.
Beyond the training, their goal is to create community amongst a diverse group of journalists facing many similar obstacles. One topic – the psychosocial aspects of exile – is embedded throughout many of the conversations, beginning the first day.
Benefits
- Essential expenses – housing, food, transportation – will be covered.
- A living stipend of $2,000 per fellow is included.
Eligibility
- Open only for foreign journalists who are currently exiled and living in the USA.
- English proficiency is required.
Application
Note: Applicants may find that they can’t answer some of the application questions due to exile issues. If that’s so in your case, do not let this discourage you. Simply tell them in a few sentences the reasons that you are unable to provide the information.
