Deadline: March1, 2013
Are you a citizen and resident of Pakistan, between 18 and 30 years of age? Are you willing and able to travel to the United states as well as communicate in English? You are encouraged to apply for the Emerging Leaders of Pakistan (ELP) program.
About
The ELP Program is a highly selective program that inspires, empowers, and connects emerging young leaders from across Pakistan. The Fellowship facilitates sustainable idea exchange among participants and with the broader community in Pakistan, the region, and the world by bringing together like-minded individuals who are working to create positive change within their communities and country. Program participants are selected from diverse backgrounds, including geography, religion, ethnicity and gender, which fosters the discussion of both the triumphs and challenges they face as leaders working in different capacities to bring about social change. Working with one another, Fellows develop a support system through the sharing of ideas and practices. The Fellowship blends opportunities for personal development while providing young Pakistani leaders the chance to build long-term collaborative relationships and learn from one another’s experiences. ELP Fellows also receive long term mentoring and support from partner organizations based in Pakistan.
Eligibility
Emerging Leaders of Pakistan (ELP) is looking for successful, driven, diverse applicants from a broad range of personal and professional backgrounds who are passionate about bringing about social change in Pakistan. They want to know what you’ve done, what you’re currently doing, and your aspirations for the future.
Your application will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Articulation of future goals
- Quality of response to essays and short answers
- Quality of recommendations/references
Note:
Before filling out the ELP application, be sure to read through each section carefully to learn about the program, ensure that you are eligible to apply, and help us see why you should be selected.
Selected fellows will be required to participate in post-visit activities in Pakistan, including, but not limited to, speaking at public events, writing articles/blogs, and mentoring future ELP participants.
