We are pleased to extend an exclusive mentoring opportunity with you. Opportunity Desk Mentor, Mr. Libor Chlad, will be hosting a 1-2 month remote mentoring program around the topic of international relations and European Union Integration. Mr. Chlad has worked for/with the European Union for almost two decades but he will be conducting this mentorship in his own personal capacity.
Mr. Chlad is happy to dedicate 2-3 hours a week to the right (motivated and cheerful) persons for a period of a month or two. He would expect that they work outside these hours on assignments of their choice.
Mr Chlad’s background is legal but he is open to mentor those with a background in a different discipline too. He can talk about the EU integration project, single market, freedom of movement, Schengen and in particular its external dimension including enlargement, migration, organised crime etc.
About Libor Chlad:
Mr. Chlad has been working for the institutions of the European Union for almost two decades in various positions, currently as the head of the section implementing the 6 billion EUR facility for the Syrian refugees in Turkey. He is interested to share some of his experience with a select group of young persons determined to succeed in the area of international affairs and European integration in particular.
Eligibility
- Open to anyone interested in EU integration project, single market, freedom of movement, Schengen and in particular its external dimension including enlargement, migration, organised crime etc.
- You can come from any country and be based anywhere as long as you have the following:
- A basic knowledge of the EU.
- At least a bachelors’ degree in law or other social science and work experience (ex. max 3 years).

NOTE: To avoid misunderstandings, it is important to understand Mr Chlad is doing this in his personal capacity, does not represent the EU, and there is no promise of employment, remunerated or not.
