Applications and nominations are now invited from innovators who are developing solutions and technologies that could change the world, for the $4 million Zayed Future Energy Prize. The prize is managed by Masdar in Abu Dhabi, and seeks to recognise and reward these innovators of our time.
With a mind towards ensuring that the Prize reaches out to the different key players in the industry; The Prize will is awarded annually to five main categories:
- A Large Corporation
- A Small and Medium Enterprise
- A Non-Governmental Organization
- Lifetime Achievement recipient and
- Up to 5 High Schools from 5 different world regions.
Prize
The fund allocation per category is as follows:
- Large Corporation: No monetary value (Recognition Award)
- SME: US$ 1,500,000
- NGO: US$ 1,500,000
- Lifetime Achievement for an Individual: US $500,000
- Global High School (International): US $500,000 (Divided amongst 5 Global High Schools in 5 different regions, awarding each up to US$ 100,000)
The regions covered include
- The Americas
- Europe
- Africa
- Oceania
- Asia
There is no alternative to the cash Award.
The Awards shall be used by the winners per category to further the ideas and ambitions within the winning submissions.
Eligibility
The Zayed Future Energy Prize is open to all entrants other than:
- board members and employees of Masdar; and
- anyone who has been involved in organising, promoting or judging the Prize.
Notes and How to Apply
- Candidates can either apply for the Large Corporation, SME, NGO or Global Highschool category, or nominate a candidate for the Lifetime Achievement Award.
- For Submissions, we kindly ask you to fill to register as a candidate and proceed to log-in in order to begin filling out the application form. For your convenience, you will be able to save and return to your submission at anytime.
- For Nominations, please note that you will not have to register. Nominating an candidate for the Lifetime Achievement Award will require that you simply fill out the nomination form.
- There are no fees associated with completing an entry for nominations or submissions. Please also note that nominations and submissions will only be accepted in English.
