The Ayn Rand Institute invites students to submit essays on particular themes for a chance to win several cash prizes. Ayn Rand’s novels are inspiring and intellectually challenging. But they can also be financially rewarding for high school and college students.
The Ayn Rand Institute sponsors annual essay contests that offer 600 prizes and $100,000 in prize money every year. The following theme subjects are open for for entries.
Theme 1: Atlas Shrugged Essay Contest Information
Eligibility: Application is open to 12th Graders, College Undergraduates, and Graduate Students
Deadline: September 17, 2013
Prize
- First Prize: $10,000
- Three Second Prizes: $2,000
- Five Third: $1,000
- Twenty-five FINALISTS: $100
- Fifty Semifinalist: $50
Theme 2: We the Living Essay Contest Information
Eligibility: 10th, 11th and 12th Graders
Entry Deadline: May 6, 2013
Prizes
- First Prize: $3,000
- Five Second Prizes: $1000
- Five Third Prizes: $300
- Twenty-five Finalists: $50
