Applications are now invited for the American Ambassador to Nigeria’s PEPFAR Small Grants Program. The PEPFAR program provides small grants to community based organizations that improve the lives of orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC) affected by HIV/AIDS. It is designed to help communities help themselves. Any amount can be requested but the maximum for any project is USD $10,000.
Eligibility
Under this program,
- projects must originate in the community
- the community must make significant contributions to the success of the project, such as land, labor, money, materials, ongoing supervision, and other resources.
- Services to children (0-17 years) could include ensuring access to basic education (from early childhood development through secondary level), broader health care services, targeted food and nutrition support, including support for safe infant feeding and weaning practices, legal protection and legal aid, economic strengthening, training of caregivers in HIV prevention, and home-based care, etc.
