The call for candidatures to the UNESCO International Literacy Prize is open. UNESCO invites Member States and International Non-Governmental Organizations to solicit and submit candidatures to the prize. Every year, on the occasion of International Literacy Day (8 September) , UNESCO awards the International Literacy Prizes to institutions, organizations and individuals whose efforts contribute to the promotion of dynamic literate societies.
UNESCO is committed to supporting effective literacy policies and programmes. To that effect, the Organization honours excellence and innovation in the field of literacy throughout the world.
Eligibility
- Institutions
- Organizations or
- Individuals promoting literacy through effective and innovative programmes or projects.
Candidatures should take into account this year’s theme while also considering the specificity of each Prize.
