Microsoft is looking for the next big thing and they know that incredible, world-changing software innovations can come from students like you. The Imagine Cup Innovation Competition is a global contest for the best new innovative software. If you’ve got a great idea, assemble a great team and work hard to bring that idea to life. Your project could be on devices all over the world, changing lives and giving people the thrill of seeing the future come to life right in front of them.
The Imagine Cup is a skill-based competition comprised of three competitions. The aim of this competition is to create innovative and original software applications. Open to students around the world, the competition spans one year, beginning with national and online competitions, and culminating at the World Finals, which is hosted in a different country every year.
Prizes
The winning team will take home $50,000 (US). Create a desktop or tablet project using Windows, or a mobile project using Windows Phone, or a browser project using Windows Azure and you could win big at the Imagine Cup World Finals in Seattle 2014. Go for it!
Eligibility
You are eligible to enter if you meet the following requirements at time of entry:
- You are at least 16 years of age as of 10 September 2013 and are actively enrolled as a student at an accredited educational institution that grants high-school or college/university (or equivalent) degrees (including home schools) at any time between 1 January 2013 and 31 July 2014;
- You are NOT a resident of Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, or Syria
Up to four (4) eligible students may submit a single entry as a team.
How to Enter
To participate in Imagine Cup 2014, you must first register at www.imaginecup.com. Once you have registered you can create a team and sign up your team for the Competition(s) that you would like to compete in and start building your team.
