Applications to Sankalp Awards for Africa are now invited from emerging Africa based for-profit enterprises that can demonstrate the business and social value they are creating. Sankalp Awards for Africa will bring forth emerging high-impact SMEs to a global platform and offer them a comprehensive package of benefits.
Winners of this award will receive the exclusive opportunity to pitch to leading investors at the region’s largest social enterprise event, the Sankalp Africa Summit 2014 and all finalists will benefit from expert advice offered by influential mentors
Eligibility
As a Sankalp Award for Africa applicant/nominee, your enterprise must meet the following criteria:
- Be a for-profit enterprise with an operational focus in Africa;
- Have an African bank account;
- Be a registered business in Africa by March 31, 2014;
- Have been in operation for a minimum of 6 months, but no more than 5 years, as of November 2013
- At least 1 member of the enterprise team must attend all complimentary webinars, mentoring sessions and other business development services included in the award application process; and
Cater to one of the following 6 high impact sectors:
- Agriculture, Food and Livelihoods
- Clean Energy/Clean Technology
- Education and Vocational Training
- Financial Inclusion
- Health, Water and Sanitation
- Technology for Development, including ICT
Applicants will be assessed by a panel of judges based on Sustainability, Scalability and Impact
