Deadline: March 1, 2014

The Adolescent Social Activist Council (Northern Nigeria) is a new flagship program of Adolescence Panorama; a community-centric social enterprise and development organization that is making a sustained investment in a new generation of adolescents in northern Nigeria. The Adolescence Panorama is currently accepting applications from young people to join the Council to become change catalysts.

Do you live in any part of northern Nigeria?
Do you know you have impact to make in your society and want to express yourself and have your voice heard in 2014?
Do you crave to join a cohort of social impact leaders and be a change catalyst in your social environment?
Are you a pupil, a student, a school teacher, a NYSC Corps member, a university undergraduate or graduate, or a community do-gooder?
Are you 15- 24 years of age?

The Adolescence Panorama is looking for you. They are summoning a collective and sustainable social action in addressing the gamut of social and development issues at the heart of adolescence in indigenous northern Nigeria cultures and societies. The Council, therefore, seeks application from young people ; ages 15- 24, who live in northern Nigeria and are willing to be a change catalyst in their social environments to inspire, empower and engage other young people.

The Council features 3 Social Workgroups:

  1. The Advocacy/Civic Leadership Group
  2. The Social Enterprise Group and
  3. The Training Group.

(Applicants are expected to indicate in their applications which group they want to participate in).

Note – This is a volunteer position. There are no immediate pecuniary benefits. However, the Adolescent Social Activist Council is a great opportunity to make a difference, gain skills, build your resume and garner a wealth of work experience, while meeting other fun. Therefore, great benefits redound to volunteers in the long-run in terms of opportunities and professional relationships built.

Method of Application

Send a two-page application letter to [email protected] stating why you want to volunteer for the ASEC Northern Nigeria program and how you plan to make your impact. You must indicate your workgroup preference in your application.

APPLY TO: [email protected]. Selected applicants will be interviewed in early March. Council members finally selected will be announced and reached by March 25, 2014.
