The 2014 InternationalStudent.com Travel Video Contest is now open! Now in it’s ninth year, students once again have the chance to win the $4,000 grand prize, a Viewer’s Choice Award, other runner up prizes, and worldwide fame!
InternationalStudent.com wants the best video you can make, no longer than five minutes long, that tells them about your proposed study abroad. If you are already an international student, the video can tell about any trip you would like to take. Over the years, they have had all kinds of winners – wonderful animations, creative stop motion films, talented performers, beautiful videography, and simply compelling stories.
Eligibility and Rules
- The maximum length for your video is 5 minutes. There is no minimum length.
- In addition to their video, each applicant must also submit a signed entry form. The entry form and more information on the submission process is available here.
- You must be 18 or older and already enrolled or planning to enroll in college or university outside of your home country.
- If you are currently studying outside of your home country, your video can describe any trip you would like to take. If you are not currently studying outside of your home country, your entry must describe your proposed study abroad
- The winner will be expected to maintain a blog documenting the trip. This blog will start immediately after the winner is announced, and will continue through the trip until return to school. Contributions are expected at least once a week during the preparation for the trip and daily during the trip.
- Your video entry and the blog will be the property of InternationalStudent.com.
- Originality and interest level in the trip, and creativity and quality of the video, are the main criteria.
How To Enter the Video Contest
After you have created your video, take the following steps to enter the 2014 International Student Travel Video Contest:
- Review all Rules and Regulations
- Review all of the rules and regulations. Make sure that you are eligible and that your video conforms to all of the requirements. Email us if you have any questions.
- Submit an Entry Form
- After you have completed your video. Complete the entry form and mail, email or fax it to them at the contact information below. It must be received by 22 October 2014.
- Submit the video you created by the deadline (22 October 2014)
- Videos can be delivered in several ways:
- By uploading to Vimeo (best way), YouTube or another online video service. You will need to email them the link.
- By uploading the video file to an online sharing service like Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, or the like. You will need to email them the link to the file and make sure that the file is publicly available.
- By mailing them a mini DV or DVD to the address below.
- Videos can be delivered in several ways:
You will be notified if you are a finalist. All finalists will need to provide a high-resolution version of their video by mini DV in NTSC format, or a DVD in .MOV or .AVI format. Do not send files compressed for web use. PLEASE KEEP A BACKUP OF YOUR ENTRY.
