Are you interested in building your skills in a culturally diverse, professional environment? Apply now for the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Young Professionals Programme. Under the programme, qualified young people from Commonwealth member countries are given the opportunity to contribute to the Commonwealth’s work in international development and democracy, and to build their skills in its culturally diverse, professional environment.
The Young Professionals will be based at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London, taking up two-year positions in divisions such as Economic Policy, Rule of Law, Human Resources and Youth. During this time, they will provide technical and administrative support to programmes and operations, and benefit from professional development and mentoring.
There are 28 positions currently designated for young professionals – around 10% of the total staff of the Commonwealth Secretariat.
Eligibility
To be eligible,
- Applicants must be 27 years or younger at the time of application
- Applicants must possess a level of qualifications and experience relevant to each role.
- Applicants must be nationals of Commonwealth member countries, have excellent English language and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate commitment to the values of the Commonwealth.

1. Assistant Communications Officer

This Assistant Communications Officer role sits within the Youth Division (YTH) and is focused on providing technical and administrative support for the YTH communication strategy. This includes ensuring strong, dynamic and cutting-edge messages about YTH’s work are communicated through traditional and new media channels.
2. Assistant Programme Officer (Asia Region)
