The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) in Singapore offers a variety of internships throughout the year. APEC is the premier Asia-Pacific economic forum with the primary goal to support sustainable economic growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region. They are currently accepting application for the three-month APEC Secretariat Internship expected to take place from June to August 2015.
About the APEC Secretariat Internship
The APEC Secretariat Internship Framework (ASIF) is open to students who are nationals or permanent residents of APEC member economies. The internship attracts a large number of highly qualified candidates and provides them with the opportunity to work in a leading international organisation.
Internship work may include research, project management and publicity. Where possible, interns are invited to attend official functions and meetings as observers or staffers. Currently, the Secretariat accepts two internship placements per year based on the Secretariat’s requirements.
Eligibility
- Only nationals and permanent residents of APEC Member Economies are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must posses an undergraduate degree and may be enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a full-time graduate study program.
- Candidates should preferably have a strong interest in the work of international organizations and, in particular, international affairs and international economics.
- The ability to work in written and spoken English and computing skills are essential.
The Secretariat pays a modest stipend. However, students will need to organise their own accommodation for this internship.
