Hostwriter is a global collaboration network for journalists, journalistic bloggers, journalism students and documentary filmmakers. This award aims at journalists, who either don’t have the funds to finance the costs for their story, yet, or journalism students and recent graduates, who have excellent ideas, but are inexperienced in getting a story commissioned by a publication. With the hostwriter search engine you can find colleagues who share your research interests and your journalistic passion.
Prizes
The #hostwriterPrize awards an overall of EUR 6,000 for pieces of collaborative journalism (at least two journalists working together) and for a promising story pitch.
- 1st Place: EUR 3,000;
- 2nd Place: EUR 2,000;
- Pitch Prize: EUR 1,000.
Eligibility
You are eligible if:
- Your piece was published by July 31, 2015.
- More than one journalist has contributed to the story and
- You used HostWriter during the research.
- The piece may be in any language, but the application has to be in English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Arabic or Hebrew plus an abstract in English.
