One of the most influential global innovation accelerators, Startupbootcamp, launched its first African-based programme last month. Startupbootcamp Cape Town is a leading accelerator focused on scouting for startups in blockchain, connected devices, payment solutions, capital markets and asset management, integrated supply chain, e-commerce, retailtech, insurtech, alternative financing, identity management, digital connectivity, data and behavioral analytics and enabling technologies.
Starting in September 2017, this is an intense 3-month program designed to support entrepreneurs scale their industry-changing technology businesses taking place in Cape Town, South Africa. Innovators and entrepreneurs around the world can apply to participate from now. The aim is to grow disruptive startups and connect them with dynamic corporates, providing both with an opportunity to collaborate and build the African innovation ecosystem. Core sponsors include RCS, BNP Paribas Personal Finance, PwC, and FuseCatalyst.
FastTrack Events
Ahead of the application deadline, 16 FastTrack events will be held all over the globe for the local talent to present their ideas to the Startupbootcamp Cape Town team and sponsors for pre-application advice and feedback. The first FastTrack was hosted last week by RCS in South Africa, Cape Town. These FastTracks will then move to other cities within the African continent as well as Middle East and Europe. The cities include Accra, Amsterdam, Cairo, Doha, Dubai, Johannesburg, Kampalba, Lagos, London, Nairobi, Paris, and Tel Aviv.
Benefits
The 10 most promising teams will be selected from a pool of hundreds of applicants and provided with EUR 15,000, 100+ highly engaged industry mentors, free office space, access to funding and a network of industry partners, investors and venture capital firms.
