Submit your entries for the Transformed By Travel Photo Contest 2017. The power of exchange is understanding new perspectives. Current and former travelers of Cultural Vistas’ programs are invited to show where and how they were Transformed by Travel. Submit your photo(s) and tell how your experience overseas changed your life, and you could win a four-day trip to Washington, D.C.
This Contest is sponsored by Cultural Vistas, Inc. Founded in 1963, Cultural Vistas is a nonprofit exchange organization promoting global understanding and collaboration among individuals and institutions. They develop international professional experiences that create more informed, skilled, and engaged citizens. Their programs empower people to drive positive change in themselves, their organizations, and society.
Prizes
- First Prize: A four-day trip for one to Washington, D.C. Includes a photography itinerary, an invitation to present your work at the Transformed by Travel Photo Gallery Reception on November 16, 2017, and airfare.
- Second Prize: $300 via PayPal
- Merit (5 Winners): $100 via PayPal
- Fan’s Choice: $50 via PayPal
Eligibility
- Contest is open to all current participants and alumni of professional exchange programs administered by Cultural Vistas. Photos do not have to be taken during a Cultural Vistas program, but they do need to be taken on or after October 4, 2016.
Entry Requirements
Each entry must comply with the following requirements:
- Photographs must be in digital format;
- Only online entries will be eligible;
- No print or film submissions will be accepted for entry into this Contest;
- The photograph need not be taken with a digital camera; scans of negatives, transparencies, or photographic prints are acceptable;
- All digital files must be in .jpg or .tiff format, must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi, and must be at least 11 inches wide and 14 inches tall (if a vertical image) or 14 inches wide and 11 inches tall (if a horizontal image);
- Only cropping, minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable. Any other changes to the original photograph other than the minor permitted changes described in the previous sentence are not permitted and may disqualify the photograph from the Contest.
Application
- All participants are required to read the complete Official Rules before submitting.
- To enter, complete an entry form at transformedbytravel.com with the required information; including the entrant’s name, email address, Cultural Vistas program affiliation and year of participation, Cultural Vistas point of contact, and a brief questionnaire; and submit the entry form along with the photograph(s).
