Scholarships for RNTC Courses for Media Professionals to Study in the Netherlands 2018

You can now apply for a scholarship for one of the upcoming RNTC courses beginning in 2018. The RNTC training centre provides training for media professionals from all over the world: from journalists and programme-makers to social activists and communications professionals from non-governmental organisations.

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides KOP (formerly known as NFP) and MSP scholarships for the RNTC courses for media and communications professionals from a variety of partner countries. The scholarships are administered by Nuffic, the Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education. KOP stands for ‘Kennisontwikkelingsprogramma’ and these scholarships are available for 28 countries. MSP stands for ‘MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Scholarship Programme’ and is available for 9 countries.

You can now apply for a Scholarship for the following courses:

  • Data Journalism (only KOP)
  • Broadcast Entrepreneur (only KOP)
  • Investigative Journalism (KOP and MSP)
  • The Digital Content Creative (KOP and MSP)
  • Media Campaigns for Development and Social Change (KOP and MSP)
  • Producing Media to Counter Radicalisation (KOP and MSP)
  • Data Journalism (KOP and MSP)
  • Investigative Journalism (KOP and MSP)

Scholarship

  • Cost of living, the course fees, visa, travel and insurance will be covered by the scholarship.

Eligibility

Criteria for KOP scholarships:

  • KOP scholarships are available for these 28 countries.
  • You must be a national and live and work in one of the above mentioned countries in the Nuffic KOP list.
  • You must not be employed by an organisation that has its own means of staff-development.
  • You have an Employer’s Statement that complies with the format Nuffic has provided.
  • You have an official and valid passport.
  • You do not receive more than one fellowship for courses that take place at the same time.
  • You have a Government Statement (only if applicable) that meets the requirements of the country in which the employer is established.
  • The KOP program has no age limit.

Criteria for MSP scholarships:

  • MSP scholarships are available for these 9 countries.
  • MSP is also open to applicants of Syrian nationality who are residing and working outside of Syria in one of the other selected MENA countries.
  • You are not over 45 years of age at the time of the scholarship application deadline.
  • You do not receive more than one fellowship for courses that take place at the same time.

Application Process

  • First apply to RNTC to check that you are eligible for the course you would like to do.
  • Once you have submitted your application, RNTC will inform you by email whether you are eligible or not, usually within two weeks.
  • If you are eligible for the course, RNTC will send you a link by email to apply for a KOP or MSP scholarship.
