Deadline: May 17, 2019

The KDI School of Public Policy and Management invites applications for the G20 Global Leadership Program 2019 held on July 15 – August 2, 2019 in Korea. The program aims to bring together experienced managers and stakeholders from various ministries dedicated to improving global development and G20 development goals.

The intensive three-week program will include an overview of Korea’s development experiences, Development Policy and G20 agenda issues such as quality infrastructure, climate change & green growth, sustainable development, international trade, aging population, 4th industrial revolution and strengthening the financial system. The program also incorporates a three day field study tour to other parts of the Korean peninsula. In order to witness firsthand Korea’s development experiences, participants will be given an opportunity to visit key industrial and cultural sites.

About

The objective of the program is to enable participants to enhance their contributions towards reaching G20 development goals set forth at the Seoul Summit and drive the momentum in implementing action plans so continuity is established at each subsequent G20 summit. The Korean government has made this program possible as an integral part of its commitment to the G20 Seoul Development Consensus for Shared Growth “to add value to and complement existing development commitments”. The G20 Global Leadership Program is being co-hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Korea Development Institute (KDI) School of Public Policy and Management.

About KDI School

KDI School of Public Policy and Management was established in 1997 to educate and develop the next generation of leaders in today’s rapidly changing and globalizing economy. The School offers an innovative educational program focusing on policy and international issues and aims to transform mid-career professionals into leaders of their respective fields by equipping them with new knowledge, vision and a global perspective. KDI School also draws from a wealth of research and resources from the Korea Development Institute (KDI), the nation’s leading economic think tank, to share Korea’s unique development experience with the global community.

Benefits

All program fees have been waived and all participants will be entitled to round-trip airfare, housing, meals and a modest stipend while attending the program.

Eligibility

  • This program is designed for experienced practitioners and decision makers in their respective organizations who will be working in some capacity as a leader, change agent, or facilitator in promoting global development or on G20 agenda-setting.
  • Each applicant should possess a minimum of three years of work experience or be at the middle manager level in his/her current field.
  • Given the heavy emphasis on cultivating a peer learning community, participants should be motivated to share professional experiences and challenges.
  • A strong proficiency in the English language is required as all courses and coursework will be conducted in the English language.
