Deadline: January 26, 2020

The G20 Global Leadership Program 2020 is now open for applications. The intensive two-week program will include an overview of Korea’s development experiences, development policy and G20 agenda issues such as quality infrastructure, climate change & green growth, sustainable development, international trade, aging population, 4th industrial revolution and strengthening of the financial system.

The program also incorporates a field study tour to other parts of the Korean peninsula. In order to witness firsthand Korea’s development experiences, participants will be given an opportunity to visit key industrial and cultural sites.

Each participant is required to participate in group activities and deliver presentations addressing a G20 agenda issue or a development challenge. The goal is to have each participant apply and incorporate the coursework and knowledge shared among peers in the program into his/her group presentations at the program’s end.

The program will be held from March 17-27, 2020, mainly in Seoul, but also in various other locations in Korea – including KDI School of Public Policy and Management’s campus in Sejong City.

About

The G20 Global Leadership Program is co-hosted by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Korea Development Institute (KDI) School of Public Policy and Management. As part of Korea’s commitment to the G20 Seoul Development Consensus for Shared Growth set forth at the Seoul Summit in 2010, which aimed “to add value to and complement existing development commitments,” this program aims to enhance the participants’ abilities to contribute to economic growth and reach global development goals in their respective countries and in the professional capacities they currently hold.

About KDI School

KDI School of Public Policy and Management was founded in 1997 as the educational arm of the Korea Development Institute (KDI), a leading economic policy think tank in Korea. KDI School was established with a two-fold mission: to produce international experts with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of development economics and public policy, and to foster future leaders who can cope with a rapidly changing international environment and exercise global leadership in every sector of society. Since its inception, KDI School has cultivated over 3000 professionals from 99 different countries, who have led positive change in their respective spheres of influence. KDI School has grown exponentially due to its unwavering commitment to excellence in teaching, its promotion of a truly international learning environment, and by serving as a global hub for knowledge sharing.

Benefits

Each participant will be hosted by KDI School and the Korean government.

All program fees will be waived, and while attending the program each participant will be entitled to roundtrip airfare, accommodation, and a modest stipend.

Eligibility

  • This program is designed for experienced practitioners and decision-makers who will be working in some capacity as a leader, change agent, or facilitator in promoting global development, or G20 agenda-setting.
  • Each applicant should possess a minimum of three years of work experience, or be at the middle manager level in his/her current field.
  • A strong proficiency in the English language is required, as all courses and coursework will be conducted in English.

Application

Each participant will be asked to submit a standard application form. Please refer to the Call for Applications deadlines, and submit an online application accordingly.
