Apply for your chance to win $125,000 in funding, advertising and technology to fuel your business growth through the TELUS #StandWithOwners Program 2023. They are searching for groundbreaking, growth-minded and game-changing business owners in Canada.
Since 2020, TELUS has committed $3.5 million to #StandWithOwners, providing funding, technology and recognition to help them thrive in a digital world. From their global-best technology and commitment to putting customers first to their passion to drive social change, they are helping make the world a better place for generations to come.
Prizes
There will be thirty (30) winners in total throughout the contest period. Twenty (20) Finalists (which includes five (5) Grand Prize winners) and ten (10) random draw prize winners.
- Top five (5) finalists as determined from the twenty (20) finalists list (that receives the highest overall judging score) will be selected as the Grand Prize winners and will receive the following prize package valued at over $125,000:
- $50,000 in funding
- A personalized advertising campaign, provided by TELUS, (approx. value of $50,000) including a full-page print ad from The Globe and Mail
- A trip for two (2) to Vancouver on October 20-22, 2023. Includes flight – economy class (courtesy of Air Canada), from the closest major airport, 2 nights’ accommodation, food voucher and attendance for two people at Vancouver Whitecaps FC match in TELUS’ suite (approx. value = $7,500)
- Wireless service for two (2) on a 2-year term with TELUS’ Owners Advantage Plan, together with a $3,000 device credit (approx. total value = $8,520)
- A shipping and/or marketing services package from Canada Post (approx. value = $5,000)
- A Fully Managed by TELUS Business IT Assessment (approx. value = $2,500)
- A Petro Canada gas card valued at $2,500
- Sage accounting package valued at $2,820 which includes:
- 1-year Sage Accounting software plus (approx value = $660)
- 1-year Sage Payroll & HR software (up to 5 employees), including all modules with the exception of recruiting (approx value = $1,560)
- 4 hours consulting time, credited to each winner at $600
- Two (2) hours of customized mentorship from the TELUS Advisory Council, to be scheduled in-person (if scheduling permits) or over the phone and occur after October 22, 2023 at a mutually agreed upon date and time.
- Fifteen (15) remaining Finalists determined by the judging panel will receive the following prize package valued at $20,000:
- $10,000 in funding
- Wireless service for two (2) on a 2-year term with TELUS’ Owners Advantage Plan, along with a $2,000 device credit (approx. total value = $7,520)
- Sage accounting package valued at $2,820 which includes:
- 1-year Sage Accounting software plus (approx value = $660)
- 1-year Sage Payroll & HR software (up to 5 employees), including all modules with the exception of recruiting (approx value = $1,560)
- 4 hours consulting time, credited to each winner at $600
- A Fully Managed by TELUS Business Digital Risk Assessment (approx. value = $800)
- A shipping and/or marketing services package from Canada Post (approx. value = $500)
- A Petro Canada gas card valued at $250
- There will be ten (10) entrants that will be selected at random to receive one (1) of five (5) shipping and/or marketing service packages from Canada Post (valued at $1,000 each), one (1) of five (5) $2,500 CAD advertising coupon from Meta, along with 1-hour custom consultation with Meta specialist on how to tackle your marketing needs within the Meta ecosystem, and will each receive a #StandWithOwners prize box (approx value = $300).
Eligibility
- Open to revenue-generating Canadian businesses with 1-100 employees.
- For-profit, not-for-profit and social enterprises are eligible to apply, however, they should not receive more than 30% of their funding from government initiatives.
- Applicants must be either:
- the owner of a company or business; or
- an employee of an eligible business who has obtained written permission to participate in this application from the owner, president or chief executive of the business.
- The application is open to small business applicants who are residents of Canada and have reached the age of majority according to the laws of the Province where they reside.
Selection Criteria
Winners will be selected based on the following judging criteria:
- Tell them about your business – how it started, how it’s going and what you offer. (Weighting 20%)
- How is your business changing the game in your industry? (Weighting 25%)
- What ways has technology helped you grow your business? (Weighting 25%)
- In the next year, what business goals do you plan to achieve? (Weighting 20%)
- How does your business make a positive impact in your local community? (Weighting 10%)
Application
The #StandWithOwners application period begins at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on June 7, 2023 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on September 6, 2023.
