Deadline: September 25, 2023

Applications are open for the 5th “We Want Jazz” Poster Competition 2023. The goal of the competition is popularization of jazz through the involvement of the international community of graphic artists, as well as the popularization of Polish and world jazz as music in which everyone will find something for themselves. Artists are asked to design a poster on the theme “All that Jazz!”.

Jazz has many colours and views! From Dixieland through mainstream, fusion, funk, ethnic, and dance jazz, to jazz with the participation of symphony orchestras. At times it takes the character of consonance, and sometimes it is perceived as an unbridled musical din, which results from its spontaneous nature and tendency to musical dialogue between the performing artists. They want to show jazz as open music filled with improvisation but at the same time based on the “call and response” principle: the music of synergy mutual listening and joint creation!
