Applications are open for the Gothe-Institut Cairo Cultural Journalism Program 2023-2024. Artists and people who work in cultural fields in the provinces in Egypt are supported through various programs. In Egypt, cultural life is heavily concentrated in Cairo. This project aims to focus more on the provinces and strengthen cultural initiatives outside Cairo.
This year, the Goethe-Institut Cairo launches the Cultural Journalism Program in the provinces of Egypt to enhance the visibility of cultural events through more extensive coverage. Participants expand their knowledge in the field of cultural journalism while participating in workshops on topics such as journalistic skills and ethics, multimedia articles, photo and video journalism, and review and analysis of artistic works. Additionally, a press trip through Egypt takes place and the program is accompanied by experienced mentors.
Each workshop will last for 2-3 days from 10 am till 4 pm at Goethe-Institut Kairo. The exact workshop dates will be announced timely enough before each workshop. The Goethe-Institut reserves the right to change the dates of the workshops if necessary. This remains within the narrowest possible limits. The workshops will be held in Arabic.
