Applications are open for the “The Europe-Ukraine Desk” UA Fellowship Programme 2024. They invite journalists from Ukraine to join the program consisting of study tours, production grants, and a network of media professionals eager to enhance the Ukraine-coverage in European media.
“The Europe-Ukraine Desk” connects media professionals from seven countries with a genuine interest in the subject of Ukraine. The project consists of fellowship programs, a grant program for the development of joint publications, monthly activities for media professionals in Kyiv, and a weekly newsletter summarising current discussions about Ukraine in Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, and Spain.
They invite senior journalists, reporters, and correspondents from Ukraine to join the fellowship program of “The Europe-Ukraine Desk” and become part of a strong network of media professionals motivated to create high-quality journalistic reportings about Ukraine.
Benefits
- A total of 12 Ukrainian journalists can join the fellowship program. All travel, accommodation, and catering costs during the study tours will be covered. They are ready to provide an official invitation for male journalists in Ukraine but cannot guarantee that the permit to leave the country will be issued.
Eligibility
Open to journalists who:
- work in a public or independent media (TV, radio or online/print, social media);
- are based in Ukraine;
- have experience in foreign reporting;
- are experienced in international collaboration;
- have a basic knowledge of the EU and its Member States;
- have a very good command of English, both orally and written.
Schedule of study tours:
- Budapest, Sofia, Rome: 13-25 April 2024.
- Berlin, Paris, Madrid: 25 May – 6 June 2024.
