The seventh cycle of the programme comes less than a month after His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced that Expo City Dubai would become a hub to safeguard the planet, highlighting Expo City Dubai’s dedication to protecting the environment and propelling human progress through collaboration and meaningful partnerships.
Expo Live is the innovation and partnership programme launched by Expo 2020 Dubai to fund, accelerate, and promote creative solutions that improve lives while preserving our planet. Based on the belief that innovation can come from anywhere, Expo Live demonstrates how grassroots innovations can advance the pace of progress and inspire a more inclusive and prosperous future.
Benefits
- Successful applications will receive up to USD $100,000 to scale their businesses and have a greater impact on the ground.
- In addition to the grant funding, winners will have access to mentorship, technical guidance, and partnerships, as well as the opportunity to be a part of a community of change-makers working together for a brighter future.
Eligibility
- The grant programme is an inclusive programme open to problem solvers from around the world ranging from individual entrepreneurs, SMEs, not-for-profit organizations, and government related entities.
- Applicants will be able to submit one application per a grant application cycle.
Selection Criteria
The Grant Programme seeks to fund advance stage projects, which are currently in the demonstration and implementation phase. Successful applicants will demonstrate how new innovations, or the innovative application of existing solutions, could lead to impressive impacts at community level. Potential for replication and/or scaling-up of solutions and impacts are important.
- Is the solution, or its application, novel or innovative?
- Is the project or business plan well-conceived; does the applicant have the capacity to implement
the project, and is the requested grant amount reasonable and proportionate to the anticipated impacts? - Does the project or solution clearly identify the environmental/ social impacts? Are the current and intended impacts measurable.
- Is the project or solution ready for demonstration and/or transition-to-scale implementation? How will additional funding support the further development of the innovation or the scaling of the project?
